What do I need before I start?
You need to be at least 17 years of age and hold a valid provisional driving licence which can be obtained by:
- Applying for a provisional driving license online or
- Completing a D1 form at the post office and sending it to the DVLA.
You will also need to send your passport or birth certificate and a passport sized photo as proof of identification. Those wishing to get a head start can apply for their provisional licence up to 3 months before their 17th birthday, and could even book their first lesson for that special day.
